Enviro lessons with Mrs Daniel
Today we begun our Enviro lessons for this term with Mrs Daniel. We will meet with her every Wednesday until the end of term.
She was most impressed with our naked lunches!
Next week we are going to make 'packet monster' posters. Mrs Daniel has asked if every child could bring in 1 x empty packet for our posters.
Mandarin lessons
On Monday we had a Mandarin lesson with Vio. She reminded us of how to greet one another in Mandarin and we learnt about the different colours.

NZ Maths Week
For NZ Maths Week Mrs Madden set up a great activity for each class to guess 'How many lollies in the Jar?'
Today for maths we used our problem solving skills, estimation and knowledge on volume and capacity to try and guess how many lollies there are.
Fingers crossed we have guessed the correct answer. We will find out on Friday at assembly if our guess is correct.

Fab Friday-Sycamore Seed-Spinning Helicopter
For Fab Friday today Room 21 students looked at the Sycamore Seed and how seed dispersal works for these amazing seeds. We made our own paper 'sycamore seeds' which we also related to spinning helicopter blades. We experimented and asked lots of questions as to how these blades work. We then tested our ideas out on the Junior Playground.

Tread Lightly Visit
Room 21 had a terrific visit with the
educators from 'Tread Lightly' today. We learnt how we can continue to protect
our environment and make a real difference.
The children will be bringing radish
seeds home that they planted today. They have decided they want to have a
competition to see who can grow the biggest plant. In the last week of this
term we will invite students to bring their radish seeds back into Room 21 to
share with their peers how big their plant has grown.
Thank you so much to Helen and Liz for
your assistance today.
Check out the great photos below.
